Co-founder and Director of Hall Recruitment, Catherine brings a wealth of experience to the business, both to candidates and clients. Hailing from Sheffield, Catherine worked in international recruitment with one of the world’s leading agencies and held various senior management/executive positions in the UK and Ireland.
An experienced senior manager, she has an impressive track record in the field of permanent and temporary staff recruitment, outplacement services and HR advice, 16 years with a World leading Employment Agency, and then 17 years with Hall Recruitment.
Catherine started at ‘grass roots’ level running a commercial Temporary Recruitment Desk, with two clients and three temps, and before long had expanded operations to over 40 clients and 180 temps working each week.
A number of well-earned promotions followed, from Assistant Branch Manager to Branch Manager within a year, earning several awards including Regional branch of the year and becoming a leader with Northern UK region. Her next opportunity led her to develop an additional 5 Branches in Yorkshire before becoming the Regional Manager for 10 locations.
In 1998, Catherine moved to Ireland to run a loss-making branch, and soon became Area Manager opening additional branches in Dublin, Kildare, Cork and Galway.
Finally, in 2003 she opened Hall Recruitment with Vivienne, to focus on offering clients a personal and exceptional value-for-money service built on trust, experience and honesty!
Vivienne brings a wealth of experience to the business. She started her career in recruitment in 1973 with Alfred Marks Bureau in the capacity of a Telesales Clerk. Her success here led on to a role as a Recruitment Consultant and later Manager of the Grafton Street office where she led a team of highly successful consultants. Alfred Marks went on to become the Adecco Group and Vivienne was a Director of the company until she left in 2002 to set up her own company.
The thrust behind to move was based on a desire to bring professionalism, honesty and integrity to her business delivering a value for money service. Year on year the company has grown from strength to strength and she is proud of the fact that the company is Irish owned and managed; fully licensed by the Department; a registered member of the National Recruitment Federation – the Representative Body and Governing Authority of the recruitment industry in Ireland; fully tax compliant and up-to-date Tax Clearance Certificate; and fully insured as required by law.
Vivienne is an acknowledged authority within the profession whose achievements are recognised in the numerous tributes and awards made to her.
Fiona Brown – Recruitment and HR Consultant and GDPR Manager
Over the past 15 years, Fiona has been responsible for delivering recruitment and outsourcing services to some of the largest organisations in Ireland.
To candidates, she delivers employment support services including preparing effective CVs, interview techniques, responding to advertisements, etc.
In the years between 2006 – 2012 when helping to manage her family business, Fiona received extensive HR and payroll training, which was invaluable in effectively managing a temporary and permanent workforce. She also receives training on compliance governance issues in her role with a not-for-profit professional association which ensures an in-depth understanding on these issues.
In 2017, in response to the National Recruitment Federation recommendations, Fiona was appointed GDPR Manager. She is responsible for ensuring that all Hall Recruitment processes and procedures meet the GDPR compliance standards set out in legislation, thereby guaranteeing the integrity and confidentiality of both candidate and client data.
Sinead Spollen – Recruitment Specialist and Covid-19 Officer
Sinéad has been working in recruitment since 2005, and in addition to her substantial work background, is CIPD qualified and this year completed Europe’s only Certificate in Recruitment Practice, supported by the National Recruitment Federation.
With candidates reaching out to us from across Europe and beyond, Sinéad, having worked in London, Dublin, and Amsterdam, applies her wide range of skills to this candidate demographic. She was part of a successful start-up IT and healthcare recruitment company in London, and opened further offices in Amsterdam, Australia, and the US. Having returned home to Dublin at the end of 2015, Sinead came on board as a candidate with Hall Recruitment, and successfully completed an assignment for us with Aer Lingus as an executive-level interviewer. She then joined Hall Recruitment as a very welcome addition to the team. Her background as professional interviewer and CV writer means she offers an extended range of services to our candidates.
