At one time or another employers may be faced with the prospect of terminating an employee. This is an emotional time both for the employer and the employee. Termination requires a full range of services to assist the employee in not only moving on into future employment, but to deal with the immediate uncertainty ahead. Very often the employee is one of long service and may not have a current CV or may in fact never had one at all, may only ever have attended one interview or maybe the interview was so long ago they would have no idea of the format interviews now take and so would be completely at a loss, ultimately being eliminated from the selection process and maybe never finding work again. A caring employer does not want to be responsible for delivering such a fate to anyone.
This is where we can help. We have devised a CV Preparation, Job Search and Interview Techniques Programme which we are pleased to offer you. Our programme will assist the departing employee.
As its name suggests the Programme has the aim of preparing employees for the conditions they will face after their employment ends and the search to find new work begins.
Designed in consultation with clients, our Programme has the objective of supporting them in the caring task of providing expert guidance and support for those staff members with whom circumstances have decreed they must part company. It helps employees through the transition to new jobs and helps them become reacquainted with the job market.
This service is delivered through individual one-on-one sessions or in a group format if there is more than one person facing termination. Topics covered include:
- Career advice and evaluation
- How to prepare a winning CV
- Interview preparation
- Developing networks
- How to find a job in the current job market.
With the increased numbers of people losing their jobs over the past number of years, caring employers felt they had to provide some sort of assistance hoping that this assistance would reduce the trauma of redundancy for both the departing employees and those remaining. Very often those remaining employees feel guilty that they are remaining. Research shows that losing one’s job is one of the most stressful experiences a person can face. That is why we are here to help and this is our offering.
