HR Employee Relations Specialist

About the Job:

The HR Employee Relations Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining positive employee relations across the company. You will manage grievances, investigations, and disciplinaries while streamlining processes to ensure compliance. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement to drive initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management:
    • Manage and own a caseload from commencement to completion.
    • Conduct timely investigations of issues and hearings, producing comprehensive reports and outcome letters.
    • Manage the disciplinary process, coordinate meetings, and oversee formal processes.
    • Prepare all written communications involved in investigations, disciplinary processes, and appeals.
    • Prepare for third-party hearings.
  • Governance and Policy:
    • Develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures to ensure transparency and compliance.
    • Lead the development and review of policies, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with employment legislation in Ireland.
    • Monitor KPIs and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of employee relations processes and identify improvement areas.
  • Development:
    • Identify skill gaps and work with the Learning and Development Manager to create training programs.
    • Enhance capabilities and provide knowledge required for effective employee relations management.
  • Developing and Managing Key Relationships:
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, including leadership, senior management, and operational teams.
    • Serve as the primary contact for external stakeholders, including the Workplace Relations Commission.
    • Build and maintain a strong external network, including industry specialists.
  • General HR Duties:
    • Provide support and advisory services on all HR-related matters.
    • Manage the TUPE process and required due diligence.
    • Assist managers in meeting their department’s recruitment needs.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • CIPD or equivalent qualification is desirable.

Experience:

  • At least three to five years in a similar role.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute employee relations strategies.
  • Proven experience in employee relations with a successful track record.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Significant exposure to restructuring, redundancies, TUPE transfers, policy changes, and delivering change.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
