About the Job

We are currently seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Solicitor with 4 to 6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in construction law. This role provides an excellent opportunity to advance your career in an expanding team that is dedicated to delivering high-quality legal services. The ideal candidate will have experience in both contentious and transactional construction matters, and related experience in commercial litigation, property, or previous roles as a quantity surveyor or engineer will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on both contentious and transactional construction matters.
  • Manage client engagements with minimal supervision.
  • Handle various dispute resolution processes, including adjudication, conciliation, mediation, court proceedings, and arbitration.
  • Provide expert advice on standard form and bespoke construction contracts.
  • Draft and negotiate development agreements, professional appointments, collateral warranties, and ancillary project documents.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.

Property Law: Understanding property law, including land use, zoning, and easements, is critical for advising clients on site acquisition and development issues.

Construction Finance: Awareness of project financing structures, including public-private partnerships (PPP) and project finance agreements, is beneficial for advising on the financial aspects of construction projects.

Professional Liability: Knowledge of the duties and liabilities of construction professionals (e.g., architects, engineers) is important for addressing issues related to professional negligence and compliance with statutory duties.

Risk Management: Skills in risk analysis and management are essential for identifying potential legal issues and advising clients on strategies to mitigate risks throughout the construction process.
