SAP Training Specialist


We are seeking an experienced SAP Training Specialist to join our client’s Dublin operations. They are a leading provider of advanced construction solutions, renowned for managing complex engineering and construction projects across multiple sectors. They focus on delivering technologies and advancements that connect people, communities, and businesses. This role involves developing and delivering comprehensive training programmes on SAP ERP systems, focusing on supply chain and logistics. The successful candidate will travel to various locations across Ireland, the UK, and Europe to conduct onsite training sessions, ensuring all users are proficient in SAP functionalities.

A Day in the Life

As an SAP Training Specialist, your day will start by reviewing and updating training materials to ensure they align with current business processes. You will then prepare for upcoming training sessions, which could involve travelling to different project sites across Europe. Throughout the day, you will:

  • Conduct engaging training sessions, both online and onsite, covering SAP ERP functionalities.
  • Collaborate with the SAP Support team to gather information on new system features and updates.
  • Develop and refine training aids such as job aids, reference guides, and e-learning materials.
  • Track participant progress, providing follow-up assessments and additional support as needed.
  • Engage with project teams to understand their training needs and tailor sessions accordingly.
  • Provide post go-live support, including drop-in clinics and refresher training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-user training for all aspects of SAP ERP in Supply Chain & Logistics.
  • Develop training materials covering modules such as Materials Management and Project Systems.
  • Conduct onsite training at various project locations across Europe.
  • Create class exercises, job aids, reference guides, and e-learning materials.
  • Track and document participant progress and follow-up.
  • Train users on new system functionalities and business processes.
  • Develop and implement role-based curricula.
  • Collaborate with the SAP Support team to transfer knowledge and identify business requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date training materials in line with business process documentation.
  • Provide post go-live support, including drop-in clinics and refresher sessions.
  • Ensure training activities align with ERP programme methodology.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, specifically in SAP or ERP training.
  • Expertise in SAP, particularly in training and coaching.
  • Ability to deliver instructor-led training independently or as part of a team, both online and in a classroom setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline-oriented.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with subject matter experts.
  • Outstanding writing skills for creating clear and concise training materials.
  • Ability to conduct training based on principles of adult learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a dynamic environment.
