About the Role
This is a student-facing role focused on welfare and supervision. As a Safety Monitor, your core responsibility is to be a visible and approachable presence around campus during the school day. You’ll help ensure that students remain on-site during class hours, follow timetables, and are supported in maintaining a positive and focused environment for learning.

- Monitor entry/exit points and student safety at crossings
- Patrol corridors, stairwells, and outdoor areas
- Support orderly class transitions and lunch breaks
- Track student presence and report unauthorised absences
- Respond to behavioural incidents or emergencies
- Assist visitors and liaise with school operations teams
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Experience | Experience in youth supervision, safety monitoring, or educational settings is preferred. |
Communication | Confident communicator with a calm, authoritative presence. |
Response Readiness | Quick-thinking and calm under pressure; able to handle incidents responsibly. |
Commitment | Fully available for the term-time schedule from 25th August 2025. |
Vetting | Garda vetting required prior to appointment. |

Safeguarding Knowledge
Familiarity with child protection procedures
School Experience
Prior work in a second-level education setting
Public-Facing Skills
Ability to engage confidently with students and parents
Vigilance
Strong awareness of campus dynamics and student behaviour
