About the Job

This Procurement Specialist role is a pivotal position within a growing supply chain team, based at the organisation’s headquarters in Swords, Co. Dublin. The focus is on driving procurement excellence through strategic sourcing, supplier optimisation, and performance reporting. The successful candidate will enhance procurement’s value delivery by shaping policies, mitigating vendor risk, and contributing to commercial growth and operational efficiency.

This is not a transactional buying role—it requires a commercially aware procurement professional with a strong analytical mindset and a track record in process improvement. The ideal candidate will be confident working across departments, building supplier partnerships, and supporting long-term business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee supplier qualification, validation, onboarding, and relationship management.
  • Lead end-to-end tendering processes and drive successful contract negotiations.
  • Monitor supplier compliance and performance through structured evaluation systems.
  • Build procurement KPIs, dashboards, and reports to support strategic decisions.
  • Contribute to procurement transformation and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Maintain and organise all procurement documentation and contractual records.
  • Identify vendor risks and support mitigation strategies to protect business continuity.
  • Handle indirect procurement and ensure full contract adherence.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, sales, marketing, and finance.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to the Head of Supply Chain and senior management.

Requirements

Requirements > Essential Requirements

  • Procurement Experience (5–7 years): Experience in supplier management, sourcing, and contracting within a structured environment.
  • CIPS Level 6 or MCIPS (or progressing towards it): Professional procurement accreditation demonstrating advanced procurement expertise.
  • Procurement Systems: Familiarity with platforms such as Coupa, SAP Ariba, or equivalent tools.
  • Data Analysis: Strong Excel skills and the ability to build dashboards and interpret procurement data.
  • Contract Negotiation: Proven skills in securing value and managing risk through well-structured agreements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated success working across departments and managing stakeholders.

Requirements > Desirable Skills

  • eCommerce Platform Experience: Exposure to Shopify or similar systems.
  • Languages: Fluency in German or French is a distinct advantage.
  • Industry Interest: A general interest in animals or animal products may support alignment with company values.
