IATI Finance Officer

Location: Galway
Contract: Permanent
Position: Full-Time

Job Overview

Join a growing and ambitious organisation as an IATI Finance Officer based in Galway. This is an opportunity to become an integral part of a collaborative finance team, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations while contributing to the company’s future growth. Your responsibilities will range from month-end reconciliations and fixed asset management to supporting management accounts preparation and statutory reporting.

This role is designed for individuals with an IATI qualification or those who are part-qualified accountants, looking to grow and thrive in a supportive environment that prioritises professional development. While candidates from a practice background are welcome, industry experience is highly valued, as it will allow you to make the most of this role and hit the ground running.


Duties

  • Perform monthly bank, credit card, and supplier reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers across multiple entities.
  • Prepare and post month-end journals and manage intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assist with management accounts, statutory reporting, and year-end audit preparations.
  • File VAT, VIES, and Intrastat returns on time and in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve financial queries and provide insights.
  • Support quarterly reporting and contribute to financial forecasting.
  • Carry out ad hoc duties as required to meet team and organisational goals.

Requirements

  • IATI Qualification or Part-Qualified Accountant: Essential for progression within the role.
  • Industry Experience: Strongly preferred, though candidates with a practice background will be considered.
  • Accounting Software Proficiency: Experience with QuickBooks, or similar systems.
  • ERP System Knowledge: Familiarity with Intact iQ is advantageous.
  • Microsoft Excel Skills: Essential for managing data accurately and efficiently.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organisational skills and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
