About the Role
We’re recruiting a HR Generalist to join the HR team of a prestigious commercial law firm in Dublin 2. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a broad scope of responsibilities across recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, and employee support. The successful candidate will work alongside the HR Manager and play a central role in the day-to-day delivery of HR services in a highly professional, regulated environment.

HR & Employee Support:
- Serve as the first point of contact for staff queries on HR matters, including sick leave, maternity leave, annual leave, etc.
- Support the HR Manager on various HR projects, initiatives, and day-to-day operations.
- Prepare and manage employee documentation, including contracts, salary certificates, pension forms, and starter packs.
- Maintain and update the HR database (Bamboo HR) and ensure all employee records and files (e.g. sick certs, reference requests) are accurately documented and stored.
- Coordinate the Induction Programme and onboarding process, working closely with the IT and Training teams.
- Process applications for the Government Bike to Work Scheme and manage the renewal of Annual Tax Saver tickets.
- Handle administrative tasks related to employment references, statements of employment, and official forms.
- Oversee the Transition Year work experience programme and liaise with local schools as part of CSR outreach.
- Carry out ad-hoc HR and CSR duties as required.
Recruitment Administration:
- Assist the HR Manager in managing the end-to-end recruitment and selection process.
- Post job adverts, screen CVs, and shortlist candidates.
- Schedule interviews and liaise with candidates and recruitment agencies.
- Prepare interview packs for hiring managers.
- Manage the recruitment inbox and respond to candidate queries promptly.
- Conduct reference checks and ensure all recruitment documentation is completed accurately and stored in line with GDPR.
- Maintain compliance by securely handling and disposing of recruitment records within the required timeframes.
- Provide general administrative support for recruitment activities.
Cross Departmental Collaboration:
- Participate in collaborative projects with the Accounts, Marketing, and IT teams to support broader business initiatives.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Experience | At least 3 years in a similar HR role in Ireland within legal or regulated professional services |
Qualification | CIPD qualification is essential |
Knowledge | Practical experience of Irish employment law |
Technical Skills | MS Office, SharePoint, BambooHR or similar HRIS |
Communication | Must have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills as well as a disciplined ability to document work and to manage their time effectively. |
Language | Fluent English in both written and verbal is essential. |
Organisation | Strong time management and attention to detail |
Personal Attributes | Self starter. Personable with others, with a keen interest in HR. |
