About the Job
The Facilities Manager will oversee both hard and soft services, ensuring the smooth operation of cleaning, security, waste management, events, and technical services in line with contractual KPIs and service level agreements. This role requires a proven leader who can strategically manage contractors, implement operational improvements, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a formal qualification in engineering or facilities management, 5-6 years of experience in soft services, and proven expertise in hard services and contractor management. Strong leadership skills are essential, with a minimum of 5 years of experience managing teams and working with key shareholders and stakeholders. The candidate must also possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the delivery of both hard and soft services across the corporate head office.
- Lead and develop on-site teams, ensuring high engagement and performance.
- Oversee outsourced facilities management providers, ensuring compliance with quality standards and efficiency through structured governance.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, working closely with relevant teams.
- Develop and implement workplace policies that align with global standards and company objectives.
- Monitor and manage maintenance programmes, ensuring both preventative and reactive maintenance are conducted effectively.
- Work with key shareholders and stakeholders to ensure operational alignment and continuous improvement.
- Manage capital and operational budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Oversee contractor management, ensuring all service providers deliver quality work within the required standards.
- Promote and implement sustainability initiatives, such as energy-saving programmes and recycling policies.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- 5-6 years of proven experience in soft services (cleaning, security, waste management, workplace experience).
- Experience managing hard services and overseeing contractors, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
- Formal qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, managing teams and engaging with key shareholders and stakeholders.
- Strong financial and budgeting skills, with experience managing operational and capital expenditures.
- Proven ability to manage and improve workplace policies and operational efficiencies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present to stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
- Membership with IPFMA, BIFM, or a similar professional body.
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
- Experience working in a corporate office environment.
- Proficiency in CAFM software (IBM Maximo, Planon, FMX, etc.).
- Familiarity with contract management systems (SAP Ariba, Procore, Coupa, etc.).
