About the Job:
As the Facilities Engineering Team Supervisor, you will take ownership of the day-to-day management and coordination of the technical team, including Technicians and General Operatives. Your role will be hands-on, requiring you to ensure that all mechanical and electrical systems are maintained to the highest standards. You will also oversee compliance with health, safety, and corporate engineering standards, ensuring that all work is performed efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily activities of the technical team, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are scheduled and completed on time.
- Coordinate and manage the operation and maintenance of building engineering services, including mechanical, electrical, fire safety, and BMS systems.
- Ensure compliance with corporate engineering standards, health and safety regulations, and energy management practices.
- Oversee outsourced contractors, ensuring quality and performance align with company standards.
- Implement and manage maintenance strategies to maximise business continuity and cost savings.
- Conduct routine building inspections, addressing issues and ensuring all systems are fully operational.
- Prepare reports on maintenance activities and compliance to keep the Contract Manager informed.
- Lead energy-saving initiatives and work to optimise building system performance.
- Maintain critical spares inventory and ensure stock levels are adequate.
- Engage with stakeholders and manage client relationships effectively.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in facilities engineering or building maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or team lead role overseeing mechanical and electrical systems.
- Qualified Electrical or Mechanical Engineer, holding a Level 7 or higher qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering).
- Proven experience in managing and maintaining complex building systems, including BMS, HVAC, fire safety, generators, UPS systems, and critical infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of 5+ technical staff, providing clear direction, scheduling work, and managing performance.
- Strong working knowledge of health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
- Hands-on experience with PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems), with a track record of completing 90%+ of scheduled maintenance tasks on time.
- Experience in budget management and delivering cost-saving initiatives within a facilities management or technical services environment.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and third-party vendors, ensuring quality control and compliance with SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
- Excellent communication skills with a history of effective stakeholder management, including reporting on performance metrics and system uptime to senior management.
