About the Role
We are recruiting a Facilities and Compliance Officer to manage the day-to-day operation of a professional office environment. The role ensures a safe, compliant, and well-maintained workplace for staff and visitors. You will oversee health & safety, building systems, service contracts, and front-of-house functions, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main contact for facilities queries from staff, contractors, and visitors.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify and address issues.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation; complete audits, risk assessments, and safety checks.
- Manage life-safety systems (e.g., fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency equipment) and organise evacuation drills.
- Oversee service contracts including cleaning, catering, security, and maintenance; maintain compliance documentation.
- Monitor utilities usage and support sustainability and cost-control initiatives.
- Coordinate budgets, track expenditure, and prepare concise management reports.
- Supervise reception and housekeeping functions to uphold professional standards.
- Schedule and maintain statutory and compliance reports (e.g., fire safety, water hygiene, equipment testing).
Essential Skills & Experience
- Facilities Management
- Minimum three years’ experience in facilities, estates, or property management.
- Technical Knowledge
- Working understanding of building systems (mechanical, electrical, and life-safety).
- Health & Safety
- Strong grasp of compliance standards, audits, and reporting; risk assessment experience.
- Organisation & Leadership
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks, manage service providers, and supervise staff.
- Communication
- Confident, clear communicator; able to build effective relationships and manage stakeholders.
- Problem Solving
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive with a solutions-focused approach.
