About the Job:
As a Data Centre Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to engineering emergencies, and managing sub-contractor activities on-site. This role ensures that all building infrastructure, plant, and equipment meet and exceed service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on all building plant, equipment, and systems.
- Manage the Permit to Work system and ensure compliance.
- Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance tasks.
- Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices.
- Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure they adhere to contractual commitments and site processes.
- Develop positive working relationships with all staff.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment in compliance with company and client policies.
- Present a professional image to clients and visitors, ensuring excellence in customer service.
- Commit to personal development and continuous learning.
- Keep logbooks and client reporting up-to-date.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Formal training in electrical services maintenance.
- Qualifications: Fetac/QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Electrical, or City & Guilds 236 parts 1 & 2 (17th Edition or equivalent).
- Up-to-date skills in building management systems, ACOPs, fire and environmental control, building control, and health and safety.
- Proven experience in maintaining mission-critical facilities, including UPS systems, BMS operation, emergency standby generators, electrical testing, and HVAC systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, and basic computer skills.
- Committed to delivering excellent customer service.
- Able to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
- Physically fit, able to carry tools and components up to 20kg, and work at heights.
