About the Job

The Cybersecurity and IT Support Officer will play a crucial role in safeguarding the financial institution’s IT environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of IT systems while providing high-quality technical support to all staff members. Your role will involve monitoring and resolving IT issues, overseeing cybersecurity measures, and managing the IT infrastructure in collaboration with external suppliers. You will also contribute to various IT projects, with a strong emphasis on enhancing cyber resilience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide day-to-day IT support, ensuring the availability and performance of the core systems and related technologies.
  • Cybersecurity Management: Lead efforts to secure the institution’s IT environment, including endpoint security, firewall management, and cyber incident response.
  • IT Governance: Maintain and update the IT asset register, track incidents, and propose process improvements to enhance system efficiency and security.
  • Project Management: Oversee IT projects, including the rollout of new technology and the testing of disaster recovery plans.
  • Training: Develop and deliver IT training sessions to staff, focusing on cybersecurity best practices and effective use of IT resources.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison with external IT suppliers, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
  • Compliance: Ensure all IT activities comply with relevant regulations, including applicable financial regulations and GDPR.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Education: Ideally, a third-level qualification in IT, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in IT support or a related role, with a strong focus on cybersecurity.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Windows operating systems, Office 365, virtualisation, and network management. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering IT projects.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving IT issues efficiently.
