Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Contracts Manager with a strong background in Hard Services to manage and deliver exceptional facilities management at a cutting-edge office in Dublin 2. In this leadership role, you will oversee critical infrastructure operations, including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire safety, ensuring compliance with contractual, safety, and statutory requirements. As the point of accountability, you will lead teams, manage contractors and subcontractors, and guarantee the highest operational standards to maintain a safe, efficient, and innovative working environment.

Ideal candidates will have significant expertise in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) systems, combined with proven experience in hard services delivery. Your ability to build relationships with clients, manage budgets, and drive operational excellence will be key to success in this role. This position demands a professional with exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and technical management capabilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Deliver outstanding hard services facilities management, ensuring optimal performance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop an in-house team and external contractors, ensuring all staff and subcontractors are equipped to meet operational demands.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary contact for all contract-related matters.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety protocols across all operations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and industry best practices.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets, control costs, and deliver financial targets, including profit margins and cost efficiencies.
  • Risk and Compliance: Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure all services comply with statutory and contractual requirements.
  • Strategic Development: Exploit opportunities to grow the contract, increase profitability, and support future business development initiatives.
  • Reporting: Provide comprehensive operational and financial reports to clients and internal stakeholders, including monthly performance updates.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Educational Background:
    • Essential: A recognised qualification in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
    • Desirable: A degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or Business Management.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years of proven experience in facilities management with a focus on hard services and complex infrastructure.
    • Demonstrated success managing large-scale operations, contractors, and technical teams.
    • Experience within corporate environments or similar high-profile settings.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams effectively and foster a culture of accountability and innovation.
    • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical installations, and fire safety systems.
    • Strategic Thinking: Capable of balancing day-to-day management with long-term strategic planning.
    • Client Management: Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and build trust.
    • Financial Acumen: Skilled in budget management, cost control, and achieving financial objectives.
    • Problem-Solving: Adept at resolving complex technical and operational issues swiftly and effectively.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in facilities management systems and reporting tools.
    • Familiarity with health and safety standards, such as NEBOSH or IOSH certifications (preferred).
