This role is well-suited to professionals who have strong experience managing commercial properties and are ready to expand their expertise across a larger campus. You’ll be responsible for leading a team, overseeing Health & Safety compliance, coordinating with contractors, and driving Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives across the properties.
Whether you have a formal qualification in facilities or property management or you bring 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, your dedication to operational excellence, problem-solving skills, and ability to deliver exceptional service are what matter most. In addition to working alongside a Building Manager and a Community Manager, you’ll interact with senior team members to support budgeting, planning, and strategic goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial and Budget Management:
- Oversee campus operations within the allocated budget, working with senior team members on quarterly reviews.
- Approve invoices, manage expenses, and perform financial oversight using the Yardi Property Management System.
- Operations and Maintenance:
- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance across buildings, ensuring efficient and consistent service.
- Conduct on-site inspections, maintain asset registers, and manage preventative maintenance programmes.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Lead Health & Safety compliance, ensuring that all buildings and contractors meet required standards.
- Address insurance requirements and maintain updated Health & Safety documentation.
- Tenant and Contractor Relations:
- Act as the primary contact for tenants, addressing operational needs and ensuring a positive tenant experience.
- Oversee and negotiate with contractors, maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness in service delivery.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare reports on property conditions, operational metrics, and budget performance for clients and senior management.
- Implement and monitor Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, reporting data as required.
- Team Leadership:
- Conduct weekly meetings with on-site team members, providing guidance, training, and operational support.
- Support the Building Manager in daily tasks, budget planning, and contractor coordination.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Property or Facilities Management Qualification: Preferred but not essential for those with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Facilities Management Experience: Minimum of 3 years in commercial property or facilities management, ideally across multiple buildings.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in building management systems, including HVAC, UPS, and compliance.
- Outstanding Communication Skills: Ability to foster strong relationships with tenants, contractors, and team members.
- Strong Organisational Abilities: Skilled at multitasking and managing deadlines effectively.
- Collaborative Team Player: Motivated to contribute to a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Familiarity with Property Management Software: Experience with Yardi or similar platforms is advantageous.
