Are you an experienced Facilities Manager or Building Operations Supervisor looking for your next opportunity? We’re hiring an Assistant Facilities Manager to oversee the daily operations of a corporate site in Dublin 4.

You’ll be responsible for leading maintenance, security, and custodial teams, ensuring the building operates efficiently, and keeping inventory, equipment, and systems running smoothly. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this role is ideal for someone with 4-5 years of technical maintenance experience and previous leadership responsibilities.

This is a client-side role with a global facilities management company, offering fantastic career progression opportunities.


What You’ll Be Doing

Facilities & Operations Management

✅ Supervise and coordinate maintenance workers, security staff, and custodians.
✅ Oversee building repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment upkeep.
✅ Ensure inventory, supplies, and tools are stocked and available.
✅ Assist in budget management and cost-effective solutions.
✅ Maintain building infrastructure and essential systems.

Compliance & Safety

✅ Ensure the facility follows Irish building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
✅ Implement health & safety procedures and create a safe work environment.
✅ Monitor permits, compliance requirements, and best practices.
✅ Promote a culture of safety and efficiency.

Team & Vendor Management

✅ Act as the main contact for maintenance and security teams.
✅ Manage external contractors and vendors, ensuring high-quality service.
✅ Provide leadership, training, and support to on-site teams.

Emergency & Issue Management

✅ Respond to urgent maintenance issues, building faults, and safety concerns.
✅ Ensure quick and effective repairs with minimal disruption.


What You Need to Succeed

Essential Requirements

4-5 years of Technical Maintenance Experience – Hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or building repairs.
Leadership Experience – Previous role overseeing maintenance, security, or custodial teams.
Facilities Management Knowledge – Understanding of Irish regulations, compliance frameworks, and operational best practices.
Strong Problem-Solving & Organisational Skills – Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to issues efficiently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office & FM Software – Comfortable using technology for reporting and facility management.

Desirable Skills

Trade Qualification or Technical Certification in a relevant field.
Experience Managing Budgets & Vendor Contracts.
Knowledge of Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) Best Practices.
