Accounting Technician

Outline:

The accounting technician will be responsible for wide variety of tasks including financial reporting, account reconciliations, the preparation of customer statements and filing tax returns to name a few.
In this role you will work with a growing accounts team as the company expands into the global marketplace.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of reconciliation and financial analysis files for review by management
  • Assisting with the preparation of customer statements to ensure that customer accounts are kept up to date
  • Identifying enhancements to the customer statement preparation process.
  • Filing tax returns
  • Preparing report analyses to support management
  • Assisting weekly cash flow forecasts
  • Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Updating internal documents and adhering to internal controls
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Database management
  • Document management
  • PAYE returns
  • Assisting in preparation of profit & loss statements
  • VAT return
  • Other ad hoc duties and tasks as required by the business.

Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Qualified accounting technician
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Minimum x3 years’ experience in a similar role Superior attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work under time pressure and to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Experience in MS Office
  • Ability to handle and protect confidential

Key Competencies:

  • Strong inter personnel skills with an ability to support and influence senior financial and operational colleagues
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of MS Office applications ( in particular Excel )
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential to perform this role
  • Experience with data base accounting and management reporting systems
