About This Role

Hall Recruitment is seeking an accomplished Academic Course Manager to oversee the delivery of a wide range of supplementary learning programmes, including weekly tuition and intensive revision courses. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires exceptional organisation, people management, and communication skills.

The Academic Course Manager plays a central role in ensuring high-quality teaching, strong student outcomes, and smooth operational delivery across multiple subject areas and locations. The successful candidate will manage a team of more than 70 educators and support over 10,000 students annually.

A critical requirement of this position is flexibility. These programmes operate outside standard 9–5 hours, meaning evening and Saturday work is routinely required. When a Saturday is worked, a day off in lieu is provided. This structure is essential to meeting the academic timetable and supporting peak delivery periods such as mid-term, Christmas, and Easter courses.

This full-time, on-site role suits a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-moving, student-centred environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of educational delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Course Manager – Team Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead and manage a team of 70+ educators delivering best-in-class learning experiences.
  • Conduct regular staff review meetings and champion continuous improvement.
  • Manage teacher scheduling and absences to ensure uninterrupted course delivery.
  • Oversee the review and quality control of teaching resources and course materials.
  • Supervise the delivery of programmes across multiple teaching locations.
  • Provide structured communication, guidance, and support to academic teams.
Course Operations & Quality Management
  • Oversee weekly tuition and intensive short courses throughout the year.
  • Ensure smooth operational delivery of all programmes, including logistics and room coordination.
  • Design and coordinate student and parent feedback surveys.
  • Analyse survey data and implement improvements to enhance learning and engagement.
  • Monitor student attendance and develop procedures to manage attendance-related issues.
Student & Parent Engagement
  • Act as a visible, accessible point of contact during course delivery.
  • Manage escalations, complaints, and attendance queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support a strong customer experience by maintaining open, proactive communication with parents and students.

Skills & Experience Required

(All requirements below must be clearly demonstrated)

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior academic, education team management role.
  • Third-level qualification in business administration, education management or a related field.
  • Proven people management experience overseeing large, diverse teams.
  • Strong organisational capability with the ability to manage multiple programmes simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with staff, parents, and students.
  • Experience using digital or learning management systems to support programme delivery.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of how operational decisions influence outcomes.

Who Will Succeed in This Role

You excel when leading teams, improving teaching quality, and ensuring that complex multi-course schedules run seamlessly. You thrive in environments where there is continuous student interaction, fast-paced operations, and the need to respond quickly to emerging issues. You value structure, clarity, and high standards, and you enjoy driving improvements that benefit learners and educators alike.
