About the Job
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Electrical Technician to join a leading facilities management team supporting a large-scale logistics facility in Dublin 11. This role is focused on ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and electrical systems that support package sorting and distribution. Key tasks include preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyor systems, motors, lighting, fire alarms, LV electrical infrastructure, and control panels.
This role is best suited for electricians from FMCG, logistics, or industrial maintenance backgrounds, who are experienced in working with large-scale, high-demand equipment. Candidates should have 2–3 years of post-apprenticeship experience in electrical maintenance within manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive electrical maintenance on conveyor belts, motors, control panels, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Conduct fixed wiring testing, PAT testing, and emergency lighting checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Diagnose faults and perform electrical repairs on machinery critical to sorting and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with safe systems of work, following risk assessments and site safety procedures.
- Monitor and support third-party contractors on-site, ensuring quality control and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work orders.
- Participate in an on-call roster for after-hours emergency maintenance.
- Issue permits to work and ensure all tasks are conducted in line with health & safety regulations.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following quantifiable criteria:
- Qualified Electrician – Must have completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship in Ireland (or equivalent).
- 2–3 years of post-apprenticeship experience in an FMCG, logistics, or industrial maintenance environment.
- Proven experience with fault-finding and repair of conveyor systems, motors, LV panels, and industrial electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) systems and ability to follow structured maintenance schedules.
- Experience working with fire alarms, emergency lighting, PAT testing, and fixed wiring inspections.
- Safe Pass Certification – Required for working on industrial sites.
- Ability to work independently and respond to maintenance needs in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills
- City & Guilds / ONC / HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- IOSH safety training certification or equivalent health & safety qualification.
- Familiarity with automated conveyor systems and industrial automation.
