About the Job:

As a Sales Operations Administrator, you will manage the sales process through various channels, including online, phone, and in-person. Your responsibilities will include raising purchase orders, responding to customer queries, and tracking deliveries. You will have the chance to develop key skills using Sage software and managing stock, as well as collaborating with suppliers and supporting the sales team. This role offers an opportunity to broaden your expertise in a supportive work environment, providing valuable experience across multiple facets of sales operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire online sales process, from capturing to processing orders.
  • Request and collate supplier quotes, forwarding them to account managers for review.
  • Raise purchase orders and manage the procurement of goods and materials from suppliers.
  • Oversee website orders, ensuring they are transferred to Sage 50 for processing.
  • Track order statuses and coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Produce and maintain detailed sales and purchasing reports.
  • Work closely with colleagues across various departments, including the factory floor, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service via phone, online, and in-person interactions.
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the sales team.
  • Regularly report to senior management on sales and purchasing performance.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Essential 2-3 years of experience in a sales support or purchasing role, with hands-on experience in managing sales orders, liaising with suppliers, and coordinating logistics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiar with Sage or similar accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, able to manage multiple orders, track deliveries, and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience providing high-quality customer service, including handling phone and online enquiries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues with orders, suppliers, or logistics.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with strong interpersonal communication skills.
