About the Job:
The Procurement and Tendering Officer will provide essential support to the organisation’s service departments, ensuring that all procurement and tendering processes comply with industry standards and regulatory guidelines. This position is crucial for enabling the organisation to meet its strategic goals and ensure the efficient and transparent management of procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full tendering process, ensuring compliance with public procurement guidelines and internal policies.
- Provide support across service groups, ensuring procurement needs are met efficiently.
- Maintain and manage procurement documentation, contracts, and records with accuracy.
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Provide advice on procurement policies and procedures to ensure consistency and adherence to regulations.
- Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team effectively.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement operations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Education: A relevant third-level qualification in Business, Finance, Accountancy, or a related field with a focus on procurement or governance.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role within procurement, purchasing, finance, or governance (public sector experience is a plus).
- Leadership: Proven experience in managing staff within a procurement or finance team.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Technology: Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding of public procurement guidelines.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to multitask and prioritise under tight deadlines with great attention to detail.
