About the Job
The Commercial Bid Specialist is responsible for overseeing the entire tender management process. Key areas of focus include bid content writing, commercial pricing strategies, and managing client relationships within the context of soft services (specifically cleaning operations). Collaboration across departments and regular client site visits are essential to ensuring each bid meets the company’s quality and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the tender process from initiation to submission, ensuring high-quality, competitive bids that meet client expectations.
- Write and refine bid content to clearly communicate the company’s service offerings, ensuring the language is client-centric and persuasive.
- Oversee the commercial pricing aspects of bids, ensuring they align with the company’s financial objectives and market position.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the bid process, ensuring satisfaction and clear communication at all stages.
- Collaborate with the conversion team to strategise and secure new contracts.
- Attend client site visits with the Commercial Manager to assess needs and tailor bids accordingly.
- Work with various internal teams to gather accurate information, ensuring all bid documentation is well-organised and timely.
- Present major bids to clients, clearly articulating the company’s solutions and value propositions.

- Soft Services/Cleaning Operations experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- At least 3 years of experience in bid management, ideally within the soft services or cleaning operations industry.
- Proven experience in commercial pricing strategies for large contracts.
- Strong writing skills, particularly in crafting persuasive, client-focused bid content.
- Excellent client relationship management skills, with the ability to maintain clear and effective communication.
- High level of organisation, capable of managing multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with tender management in the competitive landscape of companies like Apleona, Bidvest Noonan, Aramark, or Derrycourt is advantageous.
- Ability to balance both independent work and collaborative team tasks.
