Job Overview
As the HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in the company’s leadership team, working collaboratively with senior management and operational teams to deliver robust HR services. You will oversee the HR function, leading a team of x2 HR generalists and 1 administrator, and ensure HR strategies align seamlessly with business objectives. This role demands a hands-on approach, supporting operational efficiency and responding promptly to issues to maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Ideal for a results-driven HR professional, this role requires expertise in Employee Relations (ER), Industrial Relations (IR), and TUPE processes, particularly within high-volume, low-wage sectors such as logistics, retail, or hospitality. With approximately 900 employees and plans to expand this is a unique opportunity to shape HR operations during a period of strategic growth.
Duties
- HR Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the HR team to provide high-quality, proactive HR services.
- Operational Responsiveness: Resolve grievances and other issues within 1 business day to ensure smooth operational workflows.
- Compliance & Relations: Manage ER and IR processes, represent the company at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC), and handle union interactions effectively.
- Policy Oversight: Develop, implement, and update HR policies to reflect best practices and legislative requirements.
- Stakeholder Representation: Act as the company representative in Contract Cleaning and Joint Labour Committees (JLC).
- Strategic Projects: Drive HR initiatives that support the business’s long-term goals while maintaining daily operational excellence.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in a comparable HR role, preferably within logistics, retail, hospitality, or contract services.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Irish employment legislation, ER, IR, TUPE, and union matters.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage and develop HR teams, delivering strategic and operational excellence.
- Responsiveness: Strong ability to act quickly and decisively, resolving issues promptly.
- Education: CIPD qualification or equivalent HR certification required.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office (HRIS experience is advantageous).
