Building Manager

Overview of the Company:

Our client, a non-for-profit organisation works directly with companies throughout Ireland adhere to environmental compliance and regulations and meet out nations environmental goals to ensure business environmental sustainability. With a team of 40 colleagues, this company has been praised by employees for its friendly and collaborative work environment, described as a job for life. They are looking for a dedicated and skilled Building Manager to maintain their office premises and support their operations on-site.

About the Job:

The Building Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the office facilities. This role is ideal for someone with a blend of strong administrative skills and hands-on maintenance abilities. With this dual skill-set you will be capable of supervising contractors for maintenance work to ensure the work is completed efficiently and on budget while your administrative skills will ensure you have the IT skills to arrange and record PPM as well as ordering PPE and office supplies for your colleagues.
This is an office-based role. Applicants are aware that as this is a key-holder position they will be required to commute to the Ballymount office location Monday to Friday. 

Key Responsibilities:

Building Management:

Hard Skills:

  • Arrange and supervise contractors for repairs, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Perform basic repairs such as changing lightbulbs and fixing minor issues.
  • Ensure the building is securely locked and oversee security protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.

Soft Skills:

  • Supervise cleaning staff to ensure the office is maintained to a high standard.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialised maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and conduct safety training for staff.

Administration:

  • Manage office supplies and order necessary equipment for remote staff.
  • Coordinate lunch deliveries and manage the canteen facility.
  • Support front-of-house activities, including setting up and maintaining conference rooms for meetings and events.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment logs, and inspection reports.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the facilities maintenance budget.
  • Develop and maintain a database of preferred vendors and service providers.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Certificate in Manual Handling, First Aid, and Health & Safety are highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 3-4 years’ experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, property management, or facilities coordination.
  • 3-4 years’ experience with relationship management and supervising contractors.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Hands-on experience with basic maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive and commute easily to Ballymount (ideal for candidates living in Tallaght, Kimmage, Crumlin, Citywest).
