About the Job
This is an exciting new role within a leading educational institution, responsible for managing the Supplementary Learning Program for Secondary Students. The Academic Course Manager will oversee the delivery of weekly tuition classes and intensive short courses, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, student experience, and operational efficiency.
The role involves direct management of teaching staff, student and parent engagement, and maintaining the overall quality of courses. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in education and academia, with strong leadership and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Academic & Course Management
- Oversee the successful delivery of the Supplementary Learning Program for Secondary Students
- Ensure high-quality teaching across weekly classes and short courses
- Manage teacher absences and ensure classes run smoothly
- Oversee and maintain the quality of teaching materials and resources
- Ensure smooth course delivery across multiple locations
Teacher & Staff Management
- Conduct regular teacher reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Ensure consistent communication with teaching staff
- Oversee teacher performance and professional development
- Manage department operations across various subjects and year groups
Student & Parent Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for student and parent inquiries
- Monitor student attendance and address any issues
- Manage student feedback surveys and implement improvements
- Resolve issues or complaints efficiently to maintain high student satisfaction
- Maintain a visible presence during courses and key academic events
Requirements
Essential Requirements
✅ Minimum 10 years’ experience in education and academics – extensive knowledge of curriculum, teaching methodologies, and student engagement
✅ Strong leadership and people management skills – ability to manage teachers and academic staff effectively
✅ Excellent organisational skills – ability to oversee multiple courses and maintain high standards
✅ Strong communication skills – ability to engage with teachers, students, and parents professionally
✅ Proficiency in school management systems – familiarity with learning management platforms and administrative tools
Desirable Skills
➕ Experience in course development – ability to enhance and expand academic offerings
➕ Experience working with senior management – ability to contribute at a strategic level
