About the Role:
As a Mobile Telematics Engineer, you will be at the forefront of installing and maintaining telematics devices – sophisticated systems that integrate telecommunications and informatics to provide key data on vehicle operation, including tracking and diagnostics. This information is crucial for enhancing road safety, improving fleet management, and supporting driver behaviour monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Commissioning: Accurately install telematics devices in a range of vehicles, ensuring they are fully operational and meet all safety standards.
- Technical Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for installed devices, addressing any issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Customer Interaction: Liaise directly with clients to schedule installations and provide consultations, fostering positive relationships through excellent service.
- Data Management: Utilise digital tools to log installations, services, and customer interactions, contributing to the efficient management of operations.
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest developments in telematics technology, attending training sessions in Ireland and the UK to enhance your expertise.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Possesses a background in mechanical or electrical engineering, with a keen interest in automotive technologies.
- Experience working with vehicle electrical accessories, such as audio systems, cameras, or security systems, is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for technical troubleshooting and customer service.
- Holds a clean driving license, with a preference for candidates over 25 due to insurance requirements.
- Exhibits a willingness to travel within the designated region and occasionally to the UK for professional development opportunities.
- Flexibility to travel within the Dublin area and occasionally beyond.
- Owns own tools.
