Engineer Operations Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineer Operations Lead in Kilkenny, focusing on leading engineering and facilities management operations. This pivotal role involves the oversight of both planned and reactive maintenance activities within site facilities, prioritising safety, quality, service, and cost objectives. The Engineer Operations Lead will play a crucial role in promoting continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and operational excellence.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Schedule and oversee maintenance activities using Plant CMMS / CAFM systems.
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve equipment maintenance issues to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Service Management: Respond to both technical and non-technical service queries, adhering to SLAs.
  • Repairs and Coordination: Perform fault-finding, repairs, and coordinate with external service engineers as necessary.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor hard services spending and utilisation, reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvement opportunities, assessing the outcomes of PM service visits.
  • Compliance and Safety: Manage site permits and RAMS, ensuring all works comply with health and safety standards.
  • Team Leadership: Train, support, and mentor onsite technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Cost and Energy Efficiency: Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing costs and enhancing energy efficiency.
  • Scope Advocacy: Champion and promote additional services and ad-hoc projects.
  • Technical Reporting: Deliver technical reports to clients and provide support for emergency responses across Ireland.
  • Unified Maintenance Approach: Support integrated asset management, planning, and change control processes.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a similar engineering operations or facilities management role with a strong emphasis on leadership and FM systems management.
  • Qualifications: A Certificate/Diploma or Senior Trades in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering.
  • Skills: Outstanding problem-solving, communication, decision-making, and customer service abilities.
  • Attributes: A customer-focused, self-motivated individual with a proven track record of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
