Technical Supervisor

About the Job:

The Technical Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical and electrical services within our client’s buildings. Reporting directly to the Contract Manager, this role includes both supervisory and hands-on responsibilities. The successful candidate will coordinate the technical team, ensure compliance with all engineering standards, and manage daily operations to maintain a high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the technical staff, including Technicians and General Operatives.
  • Schedule workloads and provide regular reports to the Contract Manager.
  • Ensure all team members are trained in the Maintenance Management System.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of building engineering and facilities services.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and local engineering standards.
  • Coordinate and report on Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks.
  • Manage outsourced resources for design, installation, and operation of engineering services.
  • Develop and implement procedures to mitigate risks associated with engineering functions.
  • Maintain critical spares and adhere to stock control processes.
  • Conduct daily/weekly building inspections and report required actions.
  • Handle additional projects as assigned by the Contract Manager.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified to a technical trade, preferably in electrical engineering.
  • Business diploma is advantageous.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical building engineering services.
  • Direct experience with customer/client senior stakeholder management.
  • Familiarity with corporate procedures, local building codes, and health & safety legislation.
  • Strong understanding of energy consumption and management.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.

Essential Skills:

  1. Electrical trade qualification.
  2. Experience with critical backup systems (e.g., Generator, UPS).
  3. Knowledge of building systems (BMS, LMS, FLS) and mechanical systems.
  4. Strong client/customer focus.
  5. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  6. Effective people management experience.
  7. High level of adaptability and multi-tasking skills.
