Hall Recruitment is seeking a Buyer with pharmaceutical experience on behalf of a leading European construction solutions provider. Our client is renowned for managing complex engineering and construction projects that deliver life-changing technologies. Their portfolio includes sectors such as Enterprise Data Centres, Advanced Technology & Life Sciences, and Technical Support Services (TSS).

About the Job:

The Buyer will play a key role in optimising procurement processes and managing supplier relationships to support complex, high-impact projects, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector. You will ensure that procurement aligns with project timelines and meet the high standards of the organisation’s cutting-edge projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier Management: Source new suppliers, negotiate terms, and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
• Procurement Management: Review and manage the procurement schedule, ensuring purchases align with project needs.
• Order Processing: Conduct bid analysis, process purchase orders, and resolve invoice queries in collaboration with the accounts payable team.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing activities, offering insights and recommendations to project teams.
• Collaboration: Work with other buyers and teams to streamline procurement processes, especially for high-volume, low-value items.
• Problem Solving: Identify and implement opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and eliminate wasteful processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Minimum of 3 years of buying experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Experience working in an engineering or construction company is desirable.
• Proven track record of working under pressure and meeting project deadlines.
• Third-level qualification in Supply Chain or a related field.
• Experience with ERP systems and strong organisational skills.
