Job Overview

As a Technical Services Manager based in Dublin, you will oversee essential building maintenance, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and lead a talented team of technicians and contractors to deliver exceptional service quality. Key Responsibilities

1. Safety and Compliance

  • Safety Leadership: Drive a strong safety culture by proactively identifying hazards, managing incident reporting, and conducting safety audits.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, overseeing the resolution of any compliance issues.
  • Incident Management: Lead incident investigations, ensuring prompt action on any findings.

2. Operations Management

  • Maintenance Oversight: Manage both planned and reactive maintenance activities to maintain operational efficiency and safety.
  • Performance Reporting: Utilise data and reporting to monitor and improve operational performance.
  • Asset Management: Oversee CMMS (e.g., Maximo) usage for accurate asset tracking, maintenance planning, and lifecycle assessment.

3. Team Leadership

  • Team Development: Lead a team of technical staff and contractors, setting performance goals, and fostering a positive, collaborative environment.
  • Skills Growth: Implement individual development plans and provide ongoing training opportunities to support skill advancement.

4. Supplier and Contractor Management

  • Third-Party Management: Manage relationships with external contractors, ensuring high performance and adherence to service standards.
  • Supplier Strategy: Develop and manage supplier strategy aligned with operational goals and service requirements.

5. Budget Management

  • Financial Oversight: Plan and manage the technical services budget, monitoring spending and ensuring value for money.
  • Cost Efficiency: Track and manage invoices, ensuring accurate and timely billing from suppliers.

6. Project Support

  • Technical Advisory: Support renovation and refurbishment projects with technical guidance, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Minor Works Oversight: Lead minor projects on-site, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Education: Trade Qualification or Third-Level Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or Health and Safety.
  • Health and Safety Certification: NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of industry experience in technical services, facilities management, or building engineering within a corporate, commercial, or industrial setting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge of building systems and FM processes, with experience in CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo).
  • Analytical and Budget Management Skills: Proven ability to analyse operational data and manage budgets effectively.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in managing and developing technical teams.
  • Compliance and Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and incident management.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Experience in client-facing roles with a strong commitment to service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
