Outline:

Our client is recruiting for a Banking Services Associate to work within the banking services division of their Dublin based law practice. This division advises banks financial institutions, and individuals on different banking transactions.
As an associate the successful candidate will have previous experience in banking or finance. You will be expected to deliver services such as acquisition finance, real estate investment and restructuring to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and assistance to clients on various corporate and commercial banking transactions, such as acquisition finance, real estate investment, and restructuring.
  • Draft and review legal documentation, including loan agreements, security documents, and facility letters.
  • Conduct due diligence and review securities to identify any potential risks or issues.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and transactions with other parties, including banks, financial institutions, and borrowers.
  • Work closely with other lawyers and professionals in the Banking Services team to deliver high-quality legal services to clients.
  • Keep up to date with changes in banking laws and regulations to provide accurate and up-to-date advice to clients.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Participate in business development activities, such as attending client meetings and industry events.
  • Train and mentor junior associates and paralegals in the team.

Requirements:

  • A law degree from an accredited institution and qualified to practice law in Ireland.
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in banking and/or finance, with a strong understanding of banking law and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify legal issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a dynamic and proactive approach to tasks and projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • A client-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
  • A strong work ethic with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.
  • Prior experience in advising on complex corporate and commercial banking transactions, including acquisition finance, real estate investment, and restructuring.
  • Familiarity with financial documentation and ability to draft and review legal documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct due diligence and review securities effectively.
  • A friendly and approachable manner to foster positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience in mentoring and supervising junior associates and paralegals is a plus.
