Careers in Accounting
So you’re good with figures. You can get them to tell you stuff. You like to get into the nitty gritty of how things get themselves to the bottom line on a balance sheet. What makes some companies profitable and some not? This intrigues you. You might be considering a career in accounting.
Careers in Accounting generally start at an entry-level with such roles as Accounts Assistant or Accounts Administrator. This is where you cut your teeth and decide on your future. For a career in accounting to progress one would either complete the IATI (Institute of Accounting Technicians in Ireland) or equivalent or you might start with a job in an accounting practice where you serve an apprenticeship while studying at the same time. The ultimate aim would be to progress to full membership of the ACA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent. With such a qualification one could travel the world and jobs in accounting will follow. Accounting roles with our clients could be:
- Accounts Assistant
- Accounts Administrators
- Accounts Payable
- Account Receivable
- Payroll
- Credit Control
- Part-Qualified Accountants
- Fully Qualified Accountants
- Financial Controllers
- Finance Managers
- Finance Directors
Whether you are an experienced Accountant, or have recently completed IATI Certification make sure you do not miss out on some of the best opportunities in your chosen specialisation. Pop over here to upload your curriculum vitae.
Alternatively you might be an employer. Perhaps your business could benefit from the services of some top accounting talent. Don’t hesitate to give us a call at +353 1 633 4040 or you could use the form below to fill us in on your precise requirements, confident in the knowledge that you will be hearing from us within one working day. From here we will arrange to take your brief. Ideally we will meet with you to gain a better understanding of your requirements; the type of person best suited to your environment; your environment; where this person is likely to have come from; the actual role outline; and of course the career path and development opportunities available. Things like this are all important when we talk to potential candidates on your behalf. In fact the more information we have to work with the better the match will be. And employers remember there is a shortage of talent out there, with intense competition to secure candidates, so help us to help you by giving us your time, to probe with you what it is you are looking for. Keep in mind that as part of our role we will want to produce a short list for your consideration. To get to that stage we have to give candidates good reason for being on that short-list. They’ll want to know ‘what’s in it for me’. The whole package on offer will need to be explored. Too few employers recognise the value of this first step. Investing now will save you a lot of time down the road.
